Project Transformation: Provide New Books to Underserved Children
This summer, I served as a reading volunteer at Project Transformation’s camp at Centenary United Methodist Church. I was so touched by how this ministry is developing the literacy skills of children who need them the most. Some of the children who read to me struggled, while others read easily and with enjoyment. No matter where their skills were at the beginning of the summer, it was clear that the daily reading they did at Project Transformation was keeping them from losing precious ground in their reading skills over the long summer.
At age 4, my son is already surrounded by books and reading is a big part of our daily routine. Many of the children served by Project Transformation are not lucky enough to have a large home library. That’s one of the reasons that when camp ends, Project Transformation plans to provide each child with at least two brand new books to keep. With your help, I’d like to use my Barefoot Books business to provide Project Transformation with some of the new books that are needed.
You can help in two ways:
When you purchase Barefoot Books and gifts for the children in your life, Project Transformation will receive free books equal to 40% of your purchase. Simply use this link to shop and make your purchase by Monday, July 25th.
I am also offering a discount to churches that would like to purchase books to be directly donated to Project Transformation. Please email me if you’d like to take advantage of this 20% discount plus discounted shipping. In addition to your discount, Project Transformation will also receive free books equal to 40% of your purchase.
